Many can say that 2017 had ups and downs, every year beings some chaos, learning, experiences that are good and bad, but we all look to the coming year and expect more. I’m excited to take the next step in my career in digital marketing. After many years of post college experience in the agency work format I have came to an agreement with my bosses and mentors at Voxxy Marketing to take the next step. It’s time to challenge myself and take the skills they have taught me over the years to the market as a digital marketing consultant.
Beginning Consulting Work As A Solopreneur
Working in the agency space has taught me so much. I have learned new things in many segments of digital marketing and I have learned to specialize in technical tasks. I learned the hard way what can cause the standard ‘millennial burnout’. After specializing and becoming well rounded in a specific vertical of search marketing I felt that my long term happiness required that I use new skills and learn other skills in order to challenge myself regularly. Working as a solo consultant for a select few clients will help me better test my skills and challenge me in a variety of ways. I can say that fear of what lays ahead is good and that I’m slowly finding out that excitement can mask fear very quickly.
I’m very happy to be taking this step and thankful for the support of my family, friends, mentors, and others that have supported me along my journey this far. Looking forward to 2018 and the challenges that the many following years will be bringing me.
