Google’s latest feature for business in maps and Google My Business is making an impact in the SEO community. Google has recently added a “Follow” button to GoogleMy Business and Map listings in search.
This feature allows for consumers to follow and interact with businesses and places by receiving notifications or updates on information sent out in Google My Business posts, events, products and updates. This is an awesome future if the Google community refines a good method to allow users to see the option and be inclined to follow your business for updates.
This feature suggests the need to be far more involved in your Google My Business account and to make sure that you are connecting with your customers that may be interested in regular product, event, or post updates through your Google My Business. The biggest question SEO’s have for Google is considering whether this may turn into a potential ranking factor where your interactions, feedback and follow count in Maps and Google My Business will have a ranking impact in search results.
What do you think?
My suggestions have to always aligned with making sure you utilize as many of Googles resources provided free to all small businesses. Making sure this is a feature that is utilized to its full potential is a sure way that you can make sure Google understands that you are interested in your customers needs, expectations and want to connect with them fully. I believe will allow for Google to have a better understanding of your target customer and serve your site to them when appropriate.
